Weed's stars, Mary-Louise Parker, 43, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 41, are officially engaged according to New York's Daily News. The happy couple are already busy spreading the word to all of their closest friends and relatives, and have everyone in breathless anticipation for an official wedding date.

The duo has been on-and-off again since 2006, first meeting on the Showtime set in August of 2005. The spark between the two no doubt came about during their close on-set interaction. They ironically play a married couple on the dark dramatic series – Parker is a drug-selling house-wife while Morgan tackles the role of her late husband.

The couple made their first public appearance at a Christmas party in 2006, just two short seasons into Weeds. Around this time, Parker was reported stating that they were “going great.” Soon the couple was bombarded by reporters left and right dying to know the state of their relationship. At the time, the couple played it cool, not denying nor agreeing with statements which implied that they were an item. In March 2007, Parker and Morgan were seen together on the opening night of the Broadway musical, Curtains, along with Parker's 3-year old son, William. The three of them even shared Valentine's Day together! “He made Valentines for everyone,” Parker recounted to People Magazine.

In June 2007, the couple called it “quits.” When asked later about the reason behind their break-up, Morgan said, “It just didn't work out. Wrong time in both our lives.” It's safe to assume that neither Parker nor Morgan wanted their fluctuating love life to conflict with their steady Showtime career.

6 months later, Morgan and Parker were seen at another movie premiere together, and looking rather close. That night they were approached by half a dozen reporters – one who singled Morgan out and candidly inquired about Parker. “What about her?” Morgan replied back with a sly smile. It seems that no matter the state of their relationship, both of them had agreed to keep their lips sealed.

Although we would like to know the when and where of the Parker-Morgan wedding, we have a feeling that the undercover couple will manage to avoid all of the headlines until well after the festivities have passed!
