Former American Idol star, Katherine McPhee, 23, and director, Nick Cokas, 42, tied the knot on February 2, 2008. They exchanged vows at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, followed by a party at the super-chic, multi-million dollar cathedral, Vibiana's, located in the heart of Los Angeles. Ideal for an elegant wedding ceremony and reception, Vibiana's is fully restored with 45-foot ornate ceilings, a gorgeous garden area, and dark wood flooring.

Approximately 305 guests came to the event, each eager to see the happy couple finally make their love official. McPhee's father, Daniel, was teary-eyed as he helped straighten her veil before her grand entrance. The two shared a tender moment; McPhee recounts that she was “holding on to my dad, trying not to cry. Then the doors opened, and I was blown away.”

For her bridesmaid dresses, McPhee chose pale pink gowns with empire waistlines and matching pink and green bouquets. Her ivory-colored bridal gown was covered from head to toe in antique lace which she accented with a floor-length cathedral veil and blush pink roses. The red-carpeted aisleway was strewn with pink and ivory rose petals, and McPhee made her descent to the sound of bagpipes. Looking back on that moment, McPhee says, “I was so emotional. And moved by the whole thing.”

Altogether, McPhee had 9 bridesmaids - including fellow American Idol contestant, Kelly Pickler. The two have become close ever since they starred in the show together in 2005. “I was honored when Katherine asked me to be a bridesmaid,” Pickler states. “The wedding was like a fairytale. I didn't want it to end.”

For the wedding décor, McPhee went for a “shabby-chic” theme. The tables were covered in subtly-patterned cream linens, and topped with rose and peony centerpieces. The ceiling of Vibiana's was lit up in a rose hue, which looked stunning against the white gold tones of the tables. The entire reception was put together by Denise De Quevedo, a popular Los Angeles wedding planner.

During the reception, McPhee serenaded the guests with her version of “Unforgettable” by Natalie Cole. Not wanting to be outdone, Cokas performed “She's Got a Way” by Billy Joel. The guests were excited and delighted to see the bride and groom expressing their love to one another on stage.

Their four-tiered cake was entirely covered in pale pink roses and white orchids. Although there was plenty to go around, the newlyweds barely ate any dessert. They were too busy celebrating with their closest friends and family. When inquired about the wedding from People Magazine, Cokas was more than happy to discuss his endless affection for his new bride. “We're a perfect fit,” he says proudly.
