The queen of pop is busy preparing the party of a lifetime in spirit of her 8-year marriage with film director, Guy Ritchie, 39. The couple first tied the knot on December 22, 2000, at the Skibo Castle in Scotland. Ritchie, in line with his familial heritage, wore a kilt while Madonna went ultra-chic in a vintage wedding gown, antique lace veil, and diamond tiara loaned to her by Asprey & Garrard. Their son, Rocco, was born just 4 months prior, and christened the day before.

The blissfully happy couple were first introduced to one another in 1999 by shared friends, Sting and Trudie Styler. They're both extremely active when it comes to business and family, raising Rocco and their 11 year old daughter Lourdes while pursuing their passions in the entertainment industry. They're also in the process of adopting another son, David Banda, a Malawian orphan. Last year, Ritchie's mother told People Magazine that Madonna and Guy were “loving and wonderful parents.” She's ecstatic about the new edition to the family and believes that everything “is working out very well.”

The couple plans on renewing their vows at their 18th century Ashcombe estate in Wiltshire. The estate, which was previously owned by photographer, Cecil Beaton, sits on 1,200 acres of lush-green countryside. An inside source reports, “Renewing their vows is the one way Guy and Madonna can show the world they're strong. They have worked hard to iron out their differences to get through the tough times. It is going to be a very emotional day that is why they want people who are closest to them to share it with them.”

It's been rumored that Madonna will be sporting a cream trouser suit created specifically for her by Stella McCartney. McCartney and Madonna have been close friends for years; in fact, McCartney was the maid of honor in Madonna and Ritchie's wedding and also constructed her couture bridal gown.

Their 2000 wedding guest list included celebrity names such as: Donetella Versace, George Clooney, Robin Williams, Rupert Everett, and Brad Pitt. It hasn't been disclosed who will be present for their vow renewal celebration, however it has been revealed that Gwyneth Paltrow will be performing a short reading during the ceremony service.

It's still indefinite whether the couple will wait until their wedding anniversary to renew their vows or if they'll carry out the party at a more opportune time, prior to Madonna's 50th birthday bash in August. What is certain: it will be the event of the season!
